Maintenance of Receiving Stations

The first round of backstopping (system maintenance) missions were carried out between April and June 2015 in Swaziland, Lesotho, Mozambique, Tanzania, Malawi Zambia and Angola.

The main objective of these missions was to ensure that receiving stations in member states are operational. In addition, for stations with internet access an automated script was installed to enable remote monitoring. The exercise was very successful, before the missions only 48% of stations were operational, and after the first round of missions this figure had improved to 74%. The next round of backstopping missions is planned for July – September 2015.
